Just got off the phone with Dr. Marti, Seattle FFC.

Nearly every test came out fine, except that my thyroid is acting weird. She says I should see a specialist. Pregnenolone for my low testosterone (we may use the cream later if it doesn't help). Low levels of viruses, but we may be doing some licorice extract for it anyway.

Going to be tested for metals. If that comes up positive, there is a natural chelator I can use.

I was a little disappointed that there isn't more I can do for myself right now. Dr. Marti is very impressed with the suppliments I'm taking already, and I've pretty much cleaned myself up except for the thyroid thing... My appointment with the thyroid specialist is not till March.

I have the feeling that we are still missing part fo the picture. I'll keep working to get some good docs here and keep moving forward with this. Not going to sit on my hands.

One piece of very good news is that my candida level is really low. I may be able to introduce some carb foods back into my diet. With all my sensitivities though, I have to be very cautious. I will be looking for more help with my food issues.

The FFC has ruled out a lot of things. I feel like each place I try is another stepping stone to getting better. Dr. Marti is optimistic that my condition will improve. I've learned to have a 'wait and see' attitude in these things. Time to learn everything I can about thyroids...

Thats great news. Sometimes fixing the tghyroid does womders for people and the solution is pretty easy and safe! I hope it works for you.

I'm glad you posted because there are alot of doubters in the FFC and if they were the shysters some people think they are they would have suggested you had more wrong with you.

This is very positive! Let us know how the Thyroid meds work. I think fixing my thyroid was a big factor in feeling better.

Thats good news for sure. What did they say you could use for heavy metal detox?

I really thought they would find more wrong with me, because I am SO sick, but they only suggested two more pills to take until I can see the thyroid specialist. I kept waiting for more bad news, but it was nearly all good news for me.

It seems I can't get pregnenolone here in Canada, so I would have to get it mailed to me from the states. I'm going to ask Dr. Marti if there is a precursor to pregnenalone that I could buy, because I would prefer to have my body producing its own. There's probably something simpler and a little safer that will do the job for me.

The virus problems are so small now. I've been working with another excellent clinic in the states for two years now, and they absolutely saturated me with suppliments and cleaned out my viruses pretty well. But finally I came to the point with them where they didn't know what else to do for me. That was when I learned about the FFC and booked with them. I was already taking 70 or 80 pills a day and doing the candida diet by the time I saw Dr. Marti. She thinks that is why my body is so clean now, with so few things left to fix. So I am keeping all those suppliments that are working well for me, and adding just a few more things.

Dr. Marti thinks my thyroid thing may be a viral thing that will run its course in while. But she admits the picture of it is pretty confusing for her. So I will have to wait till March to see the specialist to learn more.

What's happenening with my thyroid is that it's producing too much T3. It's also making antibodies to the T3, which Dr. Marti thinks is my body's attempt to normalize itself. She says the thyroid is inflamed, probably due to a virus, so it's leaking out extra hormone. Which explans why Traumeel, which I started taking just after my first FFC visit a month ago (thank you board members for suggesting it) stopped the sore itchy feeling I was getting around my thyroid. She thinks the thyroid problem is causing the palpitations, staying up too late, some of the fatigue & nervousness... If it is due to a virus, it may clear up on its own in several months, possibly cycling hypo and hyper in the meantime. Anyway, not something to be very scared about. Taking spirulina stopped the wicked palpitations I was getting with it. The iodine in it can stimulate an underactive thyroid, but it can also normalize an overactive one.

Well, I am so relieved that my candida count is VERY low, I tested negative for lyme and many viruses, clotting normal, vitamins normal... The only other weird things were very low testosterone, and an elevated pneumonia virus count. But I'm taking a heck of a lot of stuff already to kill viruses, so she says I can probably just keep doing what I'm doing.

Anyway, enough thinking about it for one day. :) Dr. Marti was very nice. We went through all the pages and pages of test results one by one, and she explained everything and answered all my questions. She was very kind, and never made anything sound scary or left me wondering. We were on the phone for two hours, not a minute wasted.

My dad was listening in on the call. He was so relieved that there is nothing really serrious wrong with me, that when we got off the call he cried and said he is so proud for all the work I've been doing and how well I'm handlling these things. :) He's such a softie for me.

Gosh, the fact that you're feeling so rotten surely should be showing something.

The only thing I was thinking of is that sometimes people can test negative (even with Igenex I think) for lyme and still be positive.

That's why lyme is also a clinical diagnosis. Did you have any questionable bands on your Western Blot?

I remember on the first FFC visit when we were ordering the tests, Dr. Marti said there are two different lyme tests we could do, and we chose to go with the more accurate one. I had live blood work done several months ago at my other clinic in the states, and we didn't find any viruses then and very little fungus. In fact, the doctor there said I was perfectly healthy - that's when I knew I needed a secon oppinion. If there were more viruses hiding out, I'm pretty sure the live blood test would have picked them up, but I guess they could be in the tissues too? The first live blood test I did two years ago was swamped with them.

I asked Dr. Marti about how accurate the virus tests are... pretty accurate, I think she said. With all the stuff I am taking for immune system and viruses, even if the tests fudged, what I'm taking should continue to kill off what's there.

What am I taking for viruses? Hard to rememeber... there are some products for immune system, like thymus extract and spirulina, Zymex II for intestinal parasites, reishi mushroom, something that kills fungus that I don't remember the name of... When I started working with the other clinic I was REALLY sick, so I don't remember a lot of the stuff we did...

Wish I could have started on the pregnenolone today, since it looks like it does a lot of neat things. I'll have to wait till monday to contact FFC to ask them to send me some or tell me an alternative.

Feeling a little lost. Expected she would tell me more things I could do to help myself. And I do wonder if we are missing something. I mean, I'm housebound, can't work, can't even use a telephone most days.
