    Hi=

We need everyone's help on this one PLEASE!

I have mentioned my friend who has been waiting 5 1/2 years to get on social security.yes 5 1/2 years (state of texas)

She has already went once to the talk to the judge and he turned her down.

She has FMS/CFS so bad she cant even write this so I have been helping her for many years with paper work.

She has lost everything health, job, LTD, car, all her money, friends, family and is about 6 months on losing her house.

She has no income. LTD was cut off 3 months ago.

What we need are tips and suggestions on what she should do...she is scared and confused. Very drugged up but will have ALsup with her. So she will have an experienced professional with her.

So please post what you think can help her so i can pass it on to her and her legal team!

Thanks to all of you for being there, again!!!

    Thanks again!

hi, i am having a difficult time too. I am in Calif.
the Judge I had was bias, i accidently saw his hand written notes stating, "he read my doctor's BS report!!
(yep, he used those words and exclamation points)
I confronted him in court, but he still sent me a denial two weeks later. i intend to send a complaint to
where i was told to send letter.

as far as your friend, he needs her doctor's letters and have 'em notarized too. save your copies too.

also, i am taking the advice of J Gavi-

need to contact your congressman, this could help the process go faster. call them and tell them your situation and askfor a congressional inquiry if you have onot already done so.
they can help you with a dire needs letter to..

I don't know the history of your appeal, but I have two general suggestions that it can't hurt to consider:

    1. Consider contacting the health issue representative in your nearest state sentor's office-both senators' offices. Ask they to look into why such a long delay is occuring. A Senator's staff often know who to call/how to get through.

    2. Also, have you thought of hiring an attorney that handles Social Security issues? Many have slide scale fees or will take a case on retainer.

All this much be hard. I hope for the best. Oh, one other thing - what about calling a local television station or newspaper and contacting the consumer awareness reporter? Often publicity will start something moving.

These are just some thoughts. Others probably know better, but I've know the above to move things when I needed help on various other issues. Might work here for you.

    Good Luck and Warm Wishes,
    Ana

A couple of ?'s: Does she have a lawyer and are they specialists in Social Security cases? If not, get another lawyer! Does she have the right medical team? A Rheumatologist and a phychiatrist ( for antidepressants ) are known to be the best for FM.Some people have a neurologist.

Get a team that understands & are experienced with FM. Have them write a letter in her behalf. It needs to include dates with the length of time they have been treating her, the diagnosis & prognosis. Also since you know her really

well and the affect the disease has had on her, you should write a letter too. Explain how severely she has FM & the changes you have seen, i.e. " She was a competent person with the ability to successfully complete daily tasks, however no longer has the ability.....blah blah blah."

I hope it is okay to write this SUGGESTION, but do not quote me. My sister wrote a letter for me that I feel is what aced my 2nd try. GOOD LUCK!!
