5HTP for SleepMalic Acid for Pain

    I have used 5-HTP off and on over the past five years for sleep. Normally, I would take 300 mg. at bedtime. I found it worked well for me. Also, made me feel really calm in the morning when I woke up.

    However, I did mention it to a Naturopathic physician who told me 300 mg. was too high a dose to be taking regularly.
    So, I quite taking it for a period of time. I haven't returned but the bottle is sitting on my night table.

    I have also had good results using the supplement Malic Acid 800 mg. 3 x a day for pain. Once the pain level is lower, I reduce to taking it twice a day. Again, after a few years I quit as it seemed that my supplement list was getting too long. I have recently restarted it. I also take over 500 mg. of magnesium daily.

    Anyway...just my own reading and experimenting.
