Hello. Anyone had any relief with 5HTP?
Was told it could help mood, pain, sleep...have been on it for about 6 days and has so far made me fall asleep faster but no pain relief.

I found that I did not get any positve benefits with 5HTP even with sleep (I use Melatonin instead).

Perhaps someone else can provide more feedback!

I have had good luck with 5HTP. It helps me sleep and also helps (a little) with pain. I tried magnesium at bedtime, but it did not do a thing. Maybe it was silently helping.
Yes, 5HTP is for me. I am sorry it is not helping you.
Yet: what works for one may not for another.

If you are taking any other kind of antidepressant medication, STOP the 5HTP unless on advice of a qualified doctor, as this can potentially cause problems from too-high serotonin levels.

I have heard it can help with mood and sleep, but nothing about pain. I don't have FM, though (CFS). What previous posters said about relaxation/deep sleep makes sense, though. I took it in a combination formula with other stuff for a few months last year...seemed to help stabilize things for me/in general restore some of my overall depletions in my body.

Good luck, and glad at least you are getting sleep help!
