I have been getting pain in the testicles for some time on and off, I've had them checked out, and nothing appears to be wrong. I can go a couple of months without getting any pain. It was only recently that I heard it can be a symptom of FMS in men, and I was wondering how many of you guys on this message board have experienced this. Just how common is this symptom?

went to doc, he does not have fibro or cf, doc had no answer, I had him drink cranberry juice daily & it is gone, for us female a lot of urinal type probs can be taken care of with just cranberry juice.

I think it may be urinary tract related.

Of blood vessels in that area and any irritation or inflammation can cause a lot of pain. You were smart to get it checked out.

I believe that men need to be well supported, especially as they age and especially if they have large testes. I had a friend who developed vericose veins in his testes.

Hope this pain goes away. Geez, that can't be any fun.

    Love, Mikie

I'm not being funny, But your comprehensive search is obviously not as comprehensive as you thought it was. There are not a lot references to testicle pain in fibromyalgia, but if you do a proper comprehensive search you will find some. Just to give you one example, check out the jim roache web site (Google search = jim roache) click on FIBROMYALGIA SYMPTOMS, drop down to where it says OTHER SYMPTOMS, you will see that were it says IN MEN:. It gives reference to pain in the testicles as a symptom.

they found nothing wrong? pain means SOMETHINGS wrong. did they check for epidydimitis? if you don't have that and no one has a clue, try this. do drink the cranberry juice but get the concentrate from the health food store. and try taking a combo of uva ursi, cleavers, nettles and saw palmetto. this might help. cindi

My hubby had this a few weeks ago there was a lump and it turned out to be a cyst caused from his shorts restricting him after a road trip . Have you been on any long drives at all lately the dr said it is a common problem

The pain comes and goes, it can effect the left testicle or the right testicle, it doesnt seem to last very long, and I can be free of it for weeks before it suddenly returns. I guess it is pretty simmilar to the rest of my FMS symtoms all occurs less often. It waxes and wanes. I regularly check below, but I'm not sure I can feel anything significant, it's a bit difficult really because it is such a tender area, it's not an easy place to check for lumps and bumps.

I'm in pain when they're even lightly bumped, or when I turn over in bed sometimes. Monthes after that I began itching and had a rash and a Terrible STRONG odor of yeast.I realized that I was perspiring, which was the cause of the strong odor, and was causing the fungal itching and rash. I have to wash once or twice per day now,and put on a cream.
    > The urologists at the VA hospital show no concern, and have been no help. It's been TWO years.I told my Dr. at the VA that I've gotten no answers about it, and I'm going to have to go see a specialist. He said " I would too". I thought it was a side effect of my MAOI medicine, but he said "no, it isn't." So Maybe it's a part of CFS,or whatever, which also started about TWO years ago.
    > Let me know if you get any answers. Thanks. JimB

Jeez that must be painful. I have a sore vagina and ovaries... due to other medical condistions though.

Please all remember that don't put everything down to CFS or FM... pain means there is something wrong, maybe its CFS or FM, maybe its sore glands or maybe something else.

What kinds of tests have you had??? Like women men should especially with these illnesses be check down there for anything abnormal etc.

Hope iy gets better you poor thing!

I'd like to know from Jo Ellen how to find the "Trigger Point Guide Book" that she mentions. Sounds like a handy book!

Wow I'd not heard that before. I've had these since I was a kid. I don't get it a lot. Sometimes if my underwear or bathing suit get too tight around them, ouch! So it usually takes some kind of contact & pressure. Interesting so many fibromen have this problem. Dang this hurts guys!

My husband had this pain off and on for quite a few months. He also didn't feel like he had a lot of energy. Finally our PCP sent him to a Urologist because he could not find the cause. It took a couple of visits before they found out what could be the problem. On second visit the doc asked him all kinds of questions about any health problems he may have had through out his life. My hubby remembered that he had mumps when he was 22 and they went down on him. That was the answer.

The doc asked him if he had any children. Yes, I have three...(mumps when you are that age can sterilize a man). Anyway, they found out he had a low tostesterone level. He goes to the doctor office once an month and they give him a low dose shot of tostesterone. After a couple of months the pain went away and his energy level came back.

I'm not saying that could be your problem but maybe something to look at. If you are having pain though, you need to have it checked out to make sure something else isn't wrong (like cancer or something)...I don't mean to scare ya...but if you are over 50, men need to be checked for this every year. I'm not meaning to sound morbid, but my dad died of prostate cancer. It's just like women, when they are a certain age they need to get pap smears and mammograms every year...a good PMI...preventative maintenance inspection...just another thought.

thanks for all your advise, I'm not overly concerned about the problem as it does not happen very often, and when it does it doesnt last all that long. I understand it could be a fibro symptom in men. I've had it checked out for anything serious, and there's not a problem in this respect. Of course if it gets worse I won't ignore it. once again thanks for all your replies.
