    Hi GB

Good answers as usual. (2) Ranger and (4) Renter are what I had in mind.

For (1) I had a different word in mind. Someone more versatile than just a
roofer. I figured there were two good answers for (5) cowboy, but you came
up with yet another good answer.

7 Restauranter (My Dad used to be one.)
    8 Ripper

Will leave the rest for the rest.

    Hi Kids

I'm sampling Gordon's healthful drink. Made with honeydew melon and banana.
I suppose one could do a lot with it in addition to drinking it. Mix with booze.
Add whipped cream for a desert; maybe put it on top of cake. Maybe I should
send my suggestions to Family Circle. They still make that?

Diane, yes 1. Repairer is right.
13 Roto Rooter cleans your drains.
15 The gift getter is a receiver.

17 Government rule enforcer is a regulator.
18 College official is a registrar.
20 A commentator on plays is a reviewer like Richard Roeper.
21 A down payment on a lawyer's fee is a retainer. (Not the kind that
is worn in the mouth despite the fact that a lawyer is a mouthpiece.)

Oops. GB and I were doing it again.

    Hi GB

Very nice. You got 6 horseshoes and 2 ringers. I was thinking different
words for 29 and 36. I don't think Johnny stayed around long enough to
do much reaping. Johnny was, BTW, a real person. Disney made a great
cartoon about him in the 40s. Dennis Day supplied the voice. That's
Dennis below. I'll have to go check Youtube. Some good music; haven't
seen the film for years. Disney also did a great cowboy cartoon with the
    voice of Roy Rogers.

As for lodger, didn't we have renter already? Anyhoo I had a synonym
    in mind.

    Is 36. Lodger, Resider?
  19. rockgor

    rockgor Well-Known Member

Hi GB, where have all the flowers gone?

I didn't even know resider was a word. I would have guessed a resider put
new siding on a house. But numerous sites say it's a legitimate word:
To live permanently or for a considerable time in a place.

I was thinking along the lines of what you get when you live in
    a boarding house.

As for Johnny Appleseed, he ______ all over the country.

Went to Youtube to see the old Disney cartoons. They are no longer there.
    Just excerpts.

Will come back with some new clues if I think of any.

On, just noticed you posted new clues.

    37 Router?
    38 Rapier
39 Roaster We had a couple of these in our house. My Dad liked to cook
big batches of stuff as well as the usual turkey, roast, etc.
    40 Rouser
    41 Refinisher
42 Riser (I used to use this term in my adjusting days when inspecting
    stairs involved in accidents.)

#38 Could be rapier or revolver.

#41 Could be refinisher or reupholsterer

All the others are spot on! GB
