    A Perfect Time To Pray

I stepped outside to get the paper.
The door slammed, locking me out.
Never mind I was in my gown
And school kids were running about.

I dropped my toothbrush in the toilet.
I stubbed my toe on a dog chew.
I burned my cup of hot chocolate.
Was there anything else I could do?

Of course there was, I soon found out,
As I broke my hand held mirror.
I ripped the seat right out of my pants.
A rotten day was drawing nearer.

I hung in the balance of frustration
Of a horrible, awful, no good, day.
And, it's only eight in the morning.
This was a perfect time to pray.

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
It's a good thing you're there, not here,
So you can sit back and laugh ~
As I go through the valley and show fear.

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done,
Maybe a little sooner than I expected.
Give us this day our daily bread.
On second thought, help me to accept it.
