    It started with feelings of slight hope and positivity;
    maybe, just maybe.
    I do deserve this.

    Soon came a rejection...your only problems are your weight;
    You are not sick.

    Sorrow and anger;
    how could they ignore all the facts?

    Digging in, fighting harder.
    More evidence; they will see the truth.

    Another rejection;
    you are not that sick.

    Anger, humiliation, frustration;
    how dare them!

    Waiting for the moment to have my say;
    the judge will see; justice WILL prevail.

    Treated like pond scum;
    a criminal, lowlife liar.

    The judge is blind or ignorant;
    cruel and derogatory.

    Despondency, more humiliation, hopelessness;
    I am nothing; a nonhuman.

    I am angry; they WILL see the truth.
    Appeal to them with faith in truth and justice.

    Shot down;
    they did not see the truth.

    Submission and withdrawal... they have won;
    I give up.

    I am numb.

    Later A spark awakens;
    I deserve this.

    I will not give up;
    it begins again.....

    That was a great poem! You really have a talent for writing poetry. I have not gotten to that stage yet, but it may come some day. The first part could also pertain to Dr.s who treat us.

    Take care, Sally

    Sally, thank you for the compliment. I haven't written a poem in so long. Just write what you feel. I believe we all can do it because to me a poem is simply what you are feeling. It doesn't have to be perfect; just a feeling. It is your poem, if someone understands it then that is great. If not, it still expressed what you are feeling.
    Thank you again.

    What a wonderful poem.

    I also am fighting for disability and am now appealing the judges decision.

    Have a lawyer and hopefully this time I will win out

    The judge said in the denial he didnt believe my doctors comments about how I can not work. But didnt give a reason so we are appealing that part of the denial plus a couple of others.

    Anyways thanks for the poem it is an inspiration to those of use fighting.

    Good luck yourself
