Ali is so busy I have volunteered to help her out today.

Here's a little math puzzle to do IN YOUR HEAD, not with paper and a pen.

Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000.
Now add 30. And another 1000.

Now add 20. Now add another 1000. Now add 10.

    What is the total?

And here's an easy riddle: What word is it?

I am sometimes loud and viewed w/ distaste.
Poke out my eye, and I'm on your face.

And here's a bit of trivia or history depending on your viewpoint. What man had two automobiles named after him?

Alas, no prizes. Just a bit of fun and mental stimulation.

    1. Good one; it's neat how the mind wants to go to 5000 on that last step.

    2. Noise/nose: very clever.

    3. Chevy Chase?

They say old Edsel Ford developed undulant fever from drinking unpasteurized milk and died of cancer when he was 49.

to all our contestants. Paulmack wins the Miss Congeniality award as one would expect of a Scott.

and Jana and Ep and Carla and Ken and Annie all got some right.

4100 is the answer to the math question. I got 5000. the site where I found the problem said most people get 5000.

    Noise-nose is right.

Ransome Eli Olds was an early carmaker. Died when I was in grade school. The cars named after him were the REO and the Oldsmobile.
