This is a new drug used in higher doses to treat schizophrenia. It belongs to the antipsychotic class of drugs. My daughter who has Asperger's autism takes a very small dose (half a milligram) every day. It works as a mood stabilizer. Asperger's patients are similar to bi-polar.

We have had very good results with the Abilify, much better than with the Risperdal (which it replaced for her). I do not know however if it would help anyone with fibro unless you're having a mood disorder. And I have not heard of it being addictive. My daughter's pharmacologist is very astute, we have worked with her for years and I can't imagine her prescribing something really harmful.
