    Hi there ..

I have been on a health kick for 8 months now. I have changed everything I eat. Went gluten free + food allergen free + vegan. And I eliminated most of the other toxins from my life. No canned or processed foods, no chemicals, etc.

Now I have decided to stop taking my Klonopin. I was only on .5mg for sleep anyway, but I found out recently that even 1/4 of a .5 mg tablet will completely melow me out.

I am stepping down my dose as slowly as possible. Removing only 1/8 of a pill for 3 to 5 days is the plan.

This is day two and I am feeling a little slap happy. But, I am not as sleepy when I wake up though.

I am anxious about stopping this because I know how addictive it is. And I have been jerking for 16 years with this illness.

Has anyone else completely eliminated this drug ? I eliminated other drugs successfully in the past, but this one worries me because of the jerking.

Thanks for your input ... Marcia

I would not stop my Klonopin without a 'weaning off' schedule written by my doctor when he knew what I was intending to do. Mine has even made it a point for me to always take the Klonopin and to never stop it without him knowing about it.

    Just my experience.

Has changing your diet helped how you feel?

I am weaning down on my Klonopin. I take two .5 mgs. at night. I'm weaning down 1/4 tablet at a time and staying at each dose for one month. So far, I'm still on month one but am not having any problems. May First, I'll step it down another 1/4 tablet.

I tried to wean down before but went too fast and had to go back on it as I was very edgy. If I can't wean off, I'll know that I still need it and will try again later on.

    Love, Mikie
