I am not responding well to thyroid meds and it was suggested by Madwolf that I might have adrenal insufficiency. I have been trying to figure out what this is and is it treatable. thanks for your time

I have only heard of this recently, both here on this site and in a bit of reading on the internet. Have you tried doing a google search on "adrenal insufficiency"? A lot of information does come up. From the little bit that I have read it does appear to be a treatable condition.

Best of luck to you searching.

I have adrenal insufficiency also. I started out on thyroid meds that I didn't respond to. I had an adrenal saliva test that showed my cortisol levels were way below normal, so she prescribed Cortef. I take Cortef along with my thyroid meds and it definitely helps. It's my understanding that Cortef gives your adrenals a rest, and in most cases, the adrenals will be able to produce cortisol again after taking Cortef.
