starting about 1 yr ago once in awhile till this summer, now often, i get sharp pains in my nose when my allergies flare up. it feels like large splinters shoved in my nose when i rub my nose. usually one side one day or week then the other. it only lasts for a few hours or a day or two. the dr didn't find a blasted thing. just gave me some nose medicine but i'm not sure if it helps or not. anyone else?

I have two kinds of nose pain. The first is a sharp poke, like someone would be sticking a pin up my nostril, when I sniffle. The last time I had that, it lasted a couple of weeks. The second kind of pain is a dull pressure across the bridge of my nose -- like someone karate-chopped me there. That usually happens when I have a sinus infection coming on and I'm getting 'backed up'.

I haven't found anything that helped for the sharp poke, but I use saline spray because it feels like I've inhaled a splinter or something, and it can't hurt!
