Does my doctor have to write a report, or does ALLSUP write it and then have the doctor sign it if he/she agrees with the wording?

ALSO, does ALLSUP want my doctor to state that I am unable to work and that he/she told me to quit working?

(Thought ALLSUP might write the report, since they write the application based on what I tell them verbally.)

I'm getting ready to see my doctor, and want to get my doctor ready before I contact ALLSUP. I have to self-pay to see this doctor, so can't afford to see him too often, especially because of paperwork.

Thanks so much all of you who use ALLSUP. You have been so helpful.

Personally I was not pleased with allsup and I switched to an Attorney in my area. However, I do know Allsup will send a report to your doctor(s) and ask that they fill them out.

    Hope that helps.

I am not sure if I can answer your question completely. I am using Allsup and as far as I know, the doctors had to complete forms that they send. They even called ME if the doctors were not completing or sending records. I then went to the doctor and pushed them. I am lucky to have two very nice doctors.

I do know that Allsup writes most of the reports that go to SS. They interview me over the phone and write it better than I would be able to word it. I am not sure if they do that with what the doctors write.

I hope I even make sense....LOL....I am waiting for a hearing so I will let you know how Allsup helped.

Sorry I did not respond sooner, still working my way though this board and trying to find easier ways of doing things:)

My experience with Allsup could have been just a bad caseworker or representative. He called me one day and said they could not work with me further because they didn't have enough information in my case file, and didn't think they could win. I was in awe because I had received a copy of the report that my doctor had sent Allsup a few weeks earlier and my doctor was very supportive of my disability. I even asked the rep. at Allsup if he had read the report from my specialist...he sounded a little confused but told me he had.

I was so upset and confused as to what could be the problem, but did ask for my complete file....which they made me jump through hoops to get.

Several week later....I received my file, my specialist report was not in the materials mailed by Allsup. He never did read that report thats why he sounded so confused.

Long story this time I had found a local attorney that accepted my case, furthermore her opinion of Allsup was that they were a people mill and she had never been impressed with the quality of their work.

Allsup have helped quite a few people here...but in my case I am so happy to have found a great attorney.

    Hope this helps!

If you dont mind me asking what all was wrong with you? Fibromyalgia is my main complaint with hbp and migraines and fatigue. How far a long in the process were you when they called?
who made you jump through hoops ss office?
It makes sense they are dealing with a lot of people, i am with you if you cant help me let me know what is in my file?

At that point it was primarily, FM/CFS...hypothyrodism...depression (that was not dx yet). Oh, and IBS. Not sure if anything else was on the initial filing.

Since finding the attorney who urged me to find a good internist to work with my specialist and got some more documentation on the IBS. Which I have done, BTW. I have also been properly diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Errrr, oh and also I've been dx'd with sleep apnea.

So, I have alot more documentation in my file, but it really helped to have an attorney that told me what would be a benefit to have in my file and to really press the IBS, which I would have thought was the lesser of an evil. Though it is no fun when you s**t yourself:)

It was close to a year before Allsup dropped me, and it was Allsup the made me work so hard to get a copy of my file. Of all people they should have known it was hard for me to copy their work.

Like I said it could have just been a new rep that was helping me....but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. At least I would suggest someone talk to both Allsup and an attorney and go from there.

Let me know if I can be of any more help...its no problem.

Had you gone for any of the social security docs they send you to? I have been to one a physcologist from the social security office have heard nothing since then.
Did you have everything just from the last 6 months or year. They dont seem to be interested in anything before that. i go to a rhuemy not till feb and i have pretty bad osteo arthritis my fingers use to be beautiful. They swell and then they stay that way.
So i am just going to keep on but i dont want to keep on if they arent
what did you do to get your file? what did you have to do copy the file that allsup had and had turned into ss office?
    This freaks me out
    keep me posted

I am so sorry I'm freaking you, it really might have been nothing more that me getting the bad rep.

I have a lot more in my file now thanks to my attorney suggesting areas that I needed to follow up on. And as for my file....once Allsup dropped me...I asked Allsup for a complete copy of my file. That had all the infomation that they had collected.

You can always ask for a free consult with a local attorney and see who you feel is more thorough.

I'll keep you posted, right now I am waiting for a hearing date....and waiting....and waiting:)
