hi, i've been using ambien daily for about a year and now it no longer works. what should i suggest to my Dr. to try next?

earlier i used ambien just for travelling; that worked then.

    thanks, Rita

After I use ambien daily I build up kind of an immunity. Then I stop taking it for several days, generally using valium and soma. Once the ambien is out of your system, when you start it again it usually works fine. I do this repeatedly.

    Good luck

A low dose of Elavil can be very helpful for sleep.

I do similar to Asatrump rotating between Soma, Valium and Ambien - this mostly has worked for several years now although I do get the odd sleepless night or restless sleep.

I tend to use the Valium when I have increased muscle stifffness as it works well for that and the Ambien when I think I just need a little help falling asleep. The Soma is the best for sleep for me but I have been weaning off it as it's been discontinued in Europe (where I live).

However if you can get Soma, it's the best one for restorative sleep (for me anyway) and never seemed to stop working. You don't need much either.

    Good luck,
