My doctor gave me a script for this since I have (HOPEFULLY) insurance.

What should I expect? Did it take a while to work? First night, did you doze off and that was it?

Any comments or thoughts much appreciated!

Ambien, I have no insurance, and the CR was $70 plus for only 15 pills. I have had a few weird dreams taking it, but it definately helps me sleep. I fall asleep with-in 20-30 minutes after taking Ambien. I think the CR is suppose to keep you asleep, but I have no problems with the regular stuff.
    I hope it helps you,

I've taken the regular Ambien for at least a decade----maybe 1 1/2 decades!

I normally fall asleep within about 45 minutes after taking the med.

It is more effective on an empty stomach.

I have found that splitting the pill in half and taking each half about 20 minutes apart is the most effective for me.

I once tried the Ambien CR, but I didn't like it as well. I had a harder time falling asleep with it. I prefer the regular Ambien (10 mg) and dividing the dose into two separate times about 20 minutes apart.

Warning: I sometimes "sleep eat" on this medication---and I don't remember doing it!
