    Another opening. Another show.
Another fun game. For those who know.

Know what? Know that humor is good for us. Well, that's what
my horoscope said. Actually I don't really believe in those
things. The fortune teller told me they aren't reliable.

Here's the Question. What stars would you not expect to see in the same
    movie? Here are my nominees.

    Oliver Hardy and John Wayne
    Fred Astaire and Marjorie Maine

    Debbie Reynolds and Lon Chaney
    Margaret Hamilton and Robert Redford

    Sylvester Stallone and Mickie Rooney
    Audrey Hepburn and Gabby Hayes

    Sonja Henie and Daniel Radcliffe
    Flipper and King Kong

BTW, Although one might not expected it, Oliver Hardy and John Wayne
did make a movie together. It was called The fighting Kentuckian; made
    in 1949.

Ditto for Fred Astaire and Marjorie Maine. The Belle of New York, 1952.
    Both films on Youtube.

    Hi GB

Nice pairings. I was thinking of Bette Davis and Pee Wee Herman.
Couldn't decide about Roy Rogers. Gordon suggested Benji. I suppose
we could do a list of movie titles with animals. I especially like Foghorn
    Winslow and Mario Lanza.

Well, here are a few more.
Harrison Ford and Olive Oyl (Shelley Duvall).
    Betty Hutton and Marcel Marceau
    Carry Grant and Cher

    Martha Raye and Gary Cooper
    Michael Jackson and Lawrence Welk
    Laurence Olivier and Dolly Parton

    Peter Sellers and Marlena Dietrich
    Ester Williams and Johnny Weissmuller
Bela Lugosi with Abbot and Costello

Ester Williams said in her autobiography that she and Johnny Weissmuller,
who was an Olympic gold medalist in swimming, were in some sort of swim
show before she was a movie star. Johnny, she said, was also trying to get
frisky with her in the pool.

And Bela Lugosi really did do a movie with Abbot and Costello. Lon Chaney Jr.
was in it; played the wolfman.

Too bad so many of our members aren't up to posting. Granni said to me one
time when I hadn't posted for a while, 'I hope it's your computer and not your
health'. Anyhoo be nice to see our old friends again: Patti, Barry, Willow,
    Diane, Soul, Sunflowergirl.

This isn't a movie but, who would ever think Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga would make an album together. Well, they did and it's wonderful. I bought it. Now, they are doing a commercial for Barnes & Noble bookstores. BTW, Lady G has lost some weight and looks fab!

Sorry, my poor pea brain will not allow me to think up movie combos. This is the best I can do right now.

    Love, Mikie

    Hi y'all!

Are these "real" movie pairings??? I am not familiar with most of them. Such as Jerry Lewis & Katharine Hepburn! LOL

I do have one to add:
Sylvester Stallone & Dolly Parton: Rhinestone-- 1984 movie

Trying to think of more to add..............

    Diane :)

What I had in mind when I started this thread was combinations of actors
who ordinarily would not be in the same film. And Oliver Hardy and
John Wayne seemed to fit that bill. But, strange are the ways of Hollywood
sometimes, they actually were a movie together.

And then, since Fred Astaire and Marjorie Maine both worked for MGM
at the same time, it occurred to me that she might have played her usual
role of cook or aunt etc. in an Astaire film. And she did.

But generally these are just unlikely pairings. I would not have expected
Stallone and Parton to be in the same film either.

One wouldn't expect Gene Kelly to dance with Jerry the Mouse,
but in happened in the 1940s film Anchors Away. Gene wanted
Mickey Mouse, but according to Hollywood legend, Walt Disney was
horrified to think of one of his creations appearing in a film by
    another studio. Here's a pic.

    Hi Kids

Here's a photo, Diane. (Of course one never knows. Some of them evaporate
over time.) Can you tell which one is which? It's so confusiatin' when
    they where the same costume.
