I have been having problems lately regarding chocking, no matter how small of a bite I take I almost choke, it's like the food doesn't want to go down, drinking isn't that bad...it's getting to the point where I don't want to eat because I'm afraid I am going to choke...anyone else feel/get this way too??

Not to alarm you, but you really need to get this checked out by a specialist. There are several neurological diseases that have the symptom of difficulty in swallowing. Not that you will have one of these diseases but it's better to get it checked out now rather than waiting...

Have you ever had any trouble with acid reflux. Does it feel like it is in your throat area?

I had to have my espohagus dilated last year because I developed a striction in my throat which was very unpleasant.

    I didn't know I had this until I choked on a sandwich.

I hope you get relief and feel better soon.

I will make an appointment with my Dr and talk to her about it and see what she has to say, I don't think I have had any reflux problems, Thank you all for your suggestions.

I went throught that years back...turned out it was a mental problem, that showed up physically...in my case...I was in a church that I loved, but was questioning the doctrines...a real visible case of "finding something too hard to swallow!"

i have been getting a huge painful cramp in my chest/throat when a swallow for the majority of the time i have been diagnosed....it happens with pills, liquids and food... i can't predict when it will happen..and i feel like i am going to die from the pain...i pound on my back and chest and raise my arms over my head...quite embarrassing in public....gave my inlaws a scare when it happened in front of them!!! when i finally asked my doc about this after suffering for a couople years, he thought it was due to acid reflux....i really don't feel like i have heartburn,though...i read somewhere that it could be a trigger point in the chest area...i feel your pain...i get scared to eat when i am alone...or driving...my kids will just pound on my back when i get that look on my face...i hope i never really choke because my family will just think it is the cramp thing!!!
