Are there ay Aussies here that are on Topamax? I'd like to know if it helps with FM pain and if it's on the free list at the chemist.

Hi all you Aussies and thanks for replying. Saw my GP today and he has put me Kapanol 20 mgs. He said Topamax had too may side effects and it wasn;t on the free list. I start the Kapanol tonight, so fingers crossed it will help with the pain.

G'Day all, 1st night on Kapanol and I didn't chunder, yeeehh!! But, it didn't do much for the pain, maybe I have to give it a bit longer. I didn't take one this morning, bit iffy because it's morphine, but at 2pm I took a Neurontin, helped a little bit.
Topamax that I first mentioned is used for Migraines, mention it to your Dr.
I also live in a small country town in Northern NSW and I know what the Drs can be like about giving out meds, they make you feek as though you are a drug addict!! Trying to get into specialist takes forever too. Anyway, I'll give the meds a bit longer to work and if they don't, it's back to the Dr.

Second night on Kapanol and I had the best nights sleep I can remember, that;s with the help of Clonazapam and Stillnox. Today I would say I have been 99% pain free but I suppose my body will eventually get used to the dosage, but so far so good.
