    Hi Everyone,

I've not posted in ages, so I'm sure there are a lot of new names and some "old" timers. :)

I'm 33 and have M.E., FM/MPS complex, a small pituitary tumor, IBS, GERD, esophagitis...well, you get the point.

Anyway, I'm also an advocate since I've been on disability for years.

I'm from NY/CT but recently moved to Dallas.

Does anyone have a good (yes, good, understanding, knowledgeable) doctor who, if not specializes in, than KNOWS about and is willing to learn about M.E.?

If so, I would be grateful for any assistance. I'm so "tired" of looking for doctors all of these years...Oh yeah, and if they don't take insurance, a huge red flag always goes up for me...

    Thanks a million...

    To healthier days!

I've been a patient of Dr. Loehr's for over 15 years. He treated all of my minor wellness until October of 1997 when I became very sick with tremendous pain. In three months he diagnosed fibromyalgia. He sent me to additional specialists who all agreed and tried to help with their specialities. In 2004, I moved to Illinois to be closer to my family. Since then I have been to numerous physicians, and have had so many problems. Recently I came to Dallas for a week, saw Dr. Loehr and he is going to be my main Doctor for my fibromyalgia. I will make the trips to Dallas because it is worth the travel to see such a wonderful doctor who understands and cares.

Get in touch with Carol Sieverling or anyone else at the Dallas Ft Worth CFIDS dot org. They know all the drs in the area who treat said ME, not FM, right?

Not sure I have the exact name right, but just google it, ok?

Hope you find just the one for you!

Check out Larry Sharp, D.O. in Fort Worth. He is 100% advocate for illness and knows all the latest treatments. Plus, he really listens and is a kind physician.

    Good luck!

    Hello Everyone,

Thank you all for your prompt and informative responses. I'm very well of Dr. Sharp. Unfortunately, no doctor/specialist of mine (especially my neuros) are allowing me to drive due to my increased head pain, and it would be a bit of a drive. D.O's are popular in the U.K. for M.E. interestingly enough! :)

I've also known about the FFC here in Dallas with Teitelbaum, etc., but they don't take any insurance, and I do the same treatment, if not better, with my docs in NY who do take insurance. Such a shame when doctors don't take any type of insurance...raises red flags for me.

While I am seeking and M.E. specialist, I do have terrible FM and would consider seeing a Fibro specialist so thank you to those who recommended their docs. I just find that people misunderstand M.E. even more than FM despite how serious FM is as well. M.E. is even more serious...says my body and research. ;-)

Anyway, thanks again and I did check out one support group here a little less than three years ago which needed help looking for M.E. doctors as well. I'll check them out again.

Thanks to everyone for your assistance...I really appreciate it!
