    I don't think you can beat good old butter cookies. Tho I don't use real butter because it doesn't bake as well as margarine. I always roll them thin and use cookie cutters. You can frost them or sugar them, and their just hard to beat!

    Butter Cookies
    1c. soft margarine
    1/2c. sugar
    1 egg
    mix togeather

    3 tsp. vanilla
    3c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder

    roll out, cut and place on baking sheet
    bake 400 for 10-15 min. depending on where you live.

    I made these a few weeks ago and brought them into the office. Everyone seemed to really like them.

    == The Best Sugar Cookies ==

    I used vanilla paste (from Trader Joe's) instead of vanilla extract. Also, instead of rolling out the dough and cutting out shapes, I rolled a small amount into a ball, then flattened it with the bottom of a glass. I baked them at 350 for about 10 minutes.

    == Sugar Cookie Icing ==

    I used orange extract/essence instead of almond for the icing.
