are there any pain meds that would last through the night? i know there are the fentaynol patches---but is there anything that works longer than 4-6 hours without working as long as the patches?

Have you tried Lortab/hydrocodone? That doesn't always get me through the night, but it used to. I also take a muscle relaxer at night.

I beleive there is a new version of ultram that is time released, I think I read that online somewhere. I haven't tried it. Ultram alone doesn't work very well for me.

I can/do sometimes take tramadol (ultram) between doses of hydrocodone or even combined with hydrocodone. This was approved by my doctor. I'm in no way suggesting it's appropriate for you, discuss it with your doctor.

Ultram ER is timed released. I have some that are 200 mg each. I don't have a refill for this. I do have refills for my normal pain med which is tramadol, 50 mg each. They are not timed released.

The Ultram ER make me very drowsy whereas the tramadol doesn't.
