.....after being diagnosed with FMS? I went on a beautiful drive in the mountains with my family on New Year's Day, an outing that we used to do quite frequently before I became ill, but haven't done since. For the first time in my entire life I got carsick! I couldn't believe it. I've never even been sea sick. Sailing is something I truely love to do, but haven't done since I've been ill, now I'm afraid to try it after the mountain drive. Is this caused by fibromyalgia alone or is this a side effect of medications? This came as a real surprise.

I have recently noticed that I have become much more sensitive to motion since my symptoms started showing up. Never thought about it before..thanks for the insight!!!

Best of luck and God bless!!

My sister was always the one with car sickness. But now, I get it. Not all the time, and I haven't actually thrown up yet, just real nauseus. Another one of those lovely things we PWC's have to deal with. I haven't tried the pills yet. I just close my eyes, and turn some air on, and that seems to help. I think it has something to do with all the stimulus.Good luck.........Billie

I have always had motion sickness, especially if I have to ride in the back seat. Since I've been dx'd with FM it is 10 times worse. Now I get sick even when I'm driving. I can barely stand roads that have lots of switchbacks or roller coaster knolls. We went on a cruise this past September and I was sicker than a dog, even though I took dramamine religiously. I think that because I've become so sensitive to stimuli, it has exagerated my nausea.

If you find something that helps with it, please post. Lisa

Me too, it just started happening about 2 weeks ago when we had to drive 2 1/2 hours to a specialist, then again on monday when we went again. I had to ride with the seat down and air blowing on me. Got real bad nausea. Rose

I have had motionsickness most of my life; especially on long drives in the car. The worst times were when I was a passenger in the car and someone else was driving. I was always very sick and dizzy ; but never threw up. As a child I remember getting in trouble for the car window being down and I would do that and let some air blow in my face to help my sickness and my Dad would notice it and tell me to roll the window back up. I am having more and more of the once a day motion sickness now and I don't know if it is my medicine or not. Thanks for the imput from all of you; it helps me greatly. Breel :)

I have NEVER been car sick....just a few weeks ago we were heading to Wally world...I hadn't been out of the house in two weeks and really looking forward to it...pathetic huh?
Half way there I felt really hungry all of a sudden...Made hubby stop and get me an apple...WRONG!! half way thru the apple my eye started twitching....then my cheecks...thank good ness I had the plastic bag from the apples...gross.
That has never happened to me before. We went away for X-mas and I was really scard it would happen again, but it didn't. we drove 8 hours to and from my mom's wiht no problems, other than exhaustion and pain.
I'm so tired of trying to figure out this crap......
