Anyone else have hummingbirds?

    I'm glad you have some hummies. We've had them here (NW coastal Ca) for about six weeks now on a permanent basis -- they should be nesting soon. The common one we have here is called Allen's Hummingbird, but some Anna's hummers are also to be found, and in earliest spring the Rufous Hummers head north and we see them, if lucky, for a couple of weeks.

    I keep a lightweight pair of binoculars at hand to look at birds out of the window.

    Definitely have finches, but not sure if they're goldfinches.
    We're in high desert country, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Beautiful right now.

    I have two red bird-feeders outside my windows, one on the south side and one on the east side. They are red, and they basically have sugar water inside them.
    So I'm getting a hummingbird and finch show, off and on all day.
    Also got the Peterson bird ap on my iPod, a very good one.
