    Hey, Kathi-

I'm on board as a fibro mom trying to find answers for my 23 yo son. We're in north San Diego county. As far as doctors go, we are just getting started and are very pleased and excited to be with JellyBelly's doctor. I'm not sure, but I believe I read a post where a doctor was displeased with his name being put out on a board, so, maybe Jelly knows if it's OK. Or, you may email me * I'll get it to you.

    Orange, Orange County.
I guess we So-Cals could be considered neighbors, huh?!
I have yet to find a good Doctor...I am very disappointed and exhausted in the search. Would also LOVE to hear from anyone in S-Cal who's worth going to.

Could you send me the name of your Doc also?
(I know that's a funny's a squeezable feeding product for jaw surgery...not anything else, LOL!)

Here I am a nurse with access to all types of medical professionals...and I can't even find good help. Even the Doctors I know well Don't know who to recommend...that's SAD. I have gone to Scripps in SanDiego with no luck...but I have been tempted to contact their research center when I can get my energy up.

    Good luck Kathi!

the "other" desert! I live near Hesperia and Victorville, and yes, we got snow yesterday. Unfortunately, I HAD to be at work in Rancho Cucamonga, huge project, very exhausting, but made it down the Pass before they closed it because of the snow. Would have stayed home for a snow day if I hadn't had that project going...

Hi, I'm from Dove Canyon in Orange Co. Its near Mission Viejo. I have yet to find a good doctor. The Rheumi who diagnosed me does not treat CFS but recognized it in me because he said he used to have it. He said to come back to see him if something unusual came up but there is no cure so he didnt need to see me again. The only thing good was that he ran even more tests than my PCP just to check for other things. Unfortunately every other doctor Ive been to doesnt beleive in it. I will certainly let everyone know if I find someone. Good luck to you...

Hi everyone......Thank you Southern Californians for responding !!!!!! I thought it was a dumb question but is nice to be able to hook up with people in our own back yard !!!!

We are all probably within a 2 hour radius of each other which as we all know in S. Cal that is not bad !!

This week is my "Doctor" week so I will let you all know how it goes and maybe be able to give some good reports as far as "GOOD DOCTORS for this PROBLEM" with in a reasonable drive time for you all .

I see a rheumatologist on Friday in the San Bernardino area(who is an x-Loma Linda Specialist) and this morning I got a surprise call from a Dr. who has been highly referred to me who is "supposidly" an expert in this area of Fm etc.(an x-Mayo Clinic Specialist)and he is seeing me this Saturday at 9:00.and he is New and here in the Palm Springs area.

In the mean time this morning I got in touch with the highly reccommended Dr. who is in Del Mar and they sound wonderful also so...........will do a follow up with them if mine fail this week !!!!

A get together in the future does sound good somewhere..

    keep in touch all !!!!!!

I live in Orange County in a brand new community called Ladera Ranch! It is next to Mission Viejo - off the '5' at 'The Shops at Mission Viejo'

We moved to Brea from Santa Barbara in '99, and I was rear-ended 6 months later on the 55 fwy. on my way to the first day of a new job, which brought on my dibilatating FM/CMP. Then we bought our first home in Anaheim Hills (to distract ourselves from my miscarriage 6 weeks after the MVA) because I was told I'd be better in 6 months. After we almost lost our home, sold our boat and our furniture, (due to my lack of income)we decided to forge on w/ our goal to own a brand new home...and our townhouse had appreciated we have a new home for less $$$! And now I have SSD.

I'm a So. Cal native...born in Santa Monica, raised in Los Angeles and Ventura.

I have Blue Shield HMO and I see a neurologist who specializes in Pain Mgmt. He is Dr. John Sturman in La Habra.

I have friends/family in Santa Ynez Valley, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Camarillo, Manhatten Beach, Long Beach, Costa Mesa, Placentia, Temecula, Palm Desert, Lake Arrowhead (2nd home in family since 1930's).

When we moved to OC, my husband also had job offers in Palm Springs & Carlsbad, and we chose OC for the great job opportunities and housing.
    Love, Blondieangel

Are we related ?? ha!! My grandparents (KILEYS) LIVED IN Santa Babara up on the riveara on Loma Media dr.but the santa Ana winds came and so did the fires, and burn't the house down. It was a beautiful place over looking Santa barbara. My cousin Robert Jones lives in Santa Ynez valley. My other grammy Ruth Twist lived in Solvang.I use to spend many summers there with her. I loved the danish days. I haven't thought about those places in years. You brought back so many happy memories for me, mentioning all those places. My grandparents are now gone and I will always treasure the wonderful memories.I also lived in Ventura my x- was a seabee stationed there. I could write a book about all the places I have lived with my dad being 32 years in the Navy and my x. Traveled so much. Lived in Long Beach when signal hill blew up years ago. Probably about 40 yrs, ago. Oh my I am showing my age ha!! We lived in base housing. Well I just want to let you know that I thank you for having me sit here and think about the good ole days. Thanks Linda

Wow, we are close. I used to live in Long Beach for 11 yrs. since moving from Rialto and other LA areas...been in Cali since '74 but miss my family in Minnesota but not the cold, thank heavens. However, the rain & humidity can be a killer out here.

Just read your your occupation...survivor is exactly what I've called myself for years even though i've only been dx since last year i too feel i've had fm/cfs & post-tramatic syn. for long time.

May I ask what doctor/rheumy you go to?

Jelly, my husbands company owns The La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad. Ever been there? This is too weird. We live in the Desert near Palm Desert/Palm Springs. We go to Carlsbad all the time...

Ok, I got it. You might want to remove it from the board.

Ok, a few of you are talking about a get together at Kathi's house. I have a 4400 sq ft house only a few miles from Kathi. So, whoever doesn't fit there can come here. Keep in mind I have FM so it isn't clean. LOL. We could raid the Hot Springs. Although I have heard from a few friends that the one in Desert Hot Springs isn't very nice. In fact, they called it a dump. I have never been there so I cannot confirm nor deny this claim. There is a nice spa in La Quinta though...

I posted a message when you all were discussing this, but I guess I didn't hit SEND. Anyhow, my daughter, her husband and MY NEW GRANDBABY live in Carlsbad, so I go there often.
They live down the street from La Costa Spa.
My daughter is a harpist and has played there in the past. Maybe we'll all meet someday.

I didn't see this Post before, I see that we have a Lot of So. Californians, spread out and yet close because of Freeways.

I Live now in Paramount, but I still claim Long Beach, I'm only one Block past the City Limit, lol.
I grew up in Long Beach, I was born in SantaBarbara at the Cottage Hospital, I wonder if it's still there?

I've lived all over Ca. Norco, MiraLoma, Lakewood, North LongBeach which is like a whole different city but still part of Long Beach.

Maybe we could have a Retreat at a Local Hotel, they do give discounts to Groups and PPWD.
I'm thinking Desert Hot Springs, I was there once for an AGLOW retreat, and wow was it Nice and Warm for March, we even swam in the pool. They have Big rooms, and I usually take a Cooler box, one with wheel's, so that I can have my own food, I can't eat out now adays food makes me sick sometimes. I take my Coffee pot too, the room ones are usually to small and I have a certain brand that I can Drink, others cut the gut so to speak. I Love Irish Creme in my coffee. So I'll be glad to share.

We could have a PJ Party and really let our Hair down.
    What do you think?

To tell the truth, I get Great Ideas, but some times the Body dosen't carry through, but call me crazy it might be do able.
