Anyone have a Back MRI and it changed their diagnosis?

    Hi All,

Big decision so I'd appreciate any input. I've had an MRI of my lumbar spine on my medical wish list for awhile and my mother knows the CFO of a radiology lab. I don't have insurance but can get it done for $500; still a big investment since I'm not working. I have a tailbone spill in my history that took place February 04. It was bruised for a couple days, then the pain went away; wasn't until September 04 that the back and leg pain became a major issue, but it's always gnawed at the back of my head that I might have soft tissue/disc damage. Important to note, X-rays of my tailbone and thighs have been normal. So...

Has anyone had an MRI of their back reverse a diagnosis of fibromyalgia? If something was revealed, what actions were taken to correct it?? Steroid injections? Physical therapy? Since I'm not open to surgery, will I just be following the same protocol as if I had fibromyalgia?

Trying to decide if this is worth pursuing or not.
