I have always known that I have a heart murmur, but I was reviewing my medical records in preparation for applying for SSDI and found the results of an echocardiograph I had done last year. It showed that I have minimal mitral valve regurgitation and a trace tricuspid valve regurgitation. The test was done at the request of my dentist to determine whether I needed antibiotics prior to dental work. The doctor who ordered the echocardiograph did not think there was anything to be concerned about. I am now seeing a different doctor who has not seen the results of the test. She did do an EKG and chest x-ray and both looked fine. I am reading more and more about an association between heart conditions and CFS, and I was wondering if anyone else has had similar heart valve issues. I have an appointment the end of this month, and I plan to take a copy of the results of the echocardiograph and ask my doctor if I should also see a cardiologist. I'm also thinking this is something I should include on my SSDI application as an impairment. Any thoughts?
