I know you can't use Preparation H if you're on guai so my doc prescribed xylocaine ointment. It contains lidocaine, 5% in a polyethylene glycol 300 and polyethylene glycol1450 base, thats it. It stings a little and then you don't feel the darn thing so you don't push on it and aggravate it. Hope this helps someone.

This appears to be a short-term treatment and if you did block it would only be until the hemmorhoids are under control. If the hemmorhoids are flaring up, could this be do to constipation? If so I have found magnesium eliminates this problem for me. Magnesium glycinate is the easiest on the stomach but other forms are just as effective and low cost too.

Things containing sals block the Guai for about 24 hours, so if one has a need for something on a temporary basis, I feel it's usually worth it.

I'm glad you found something sal free for this.
