Just wondering if there was anybody out there nearby. It might be kind of nice to have someone to relate to that is local. Not that this board isn't fabulous because it definitely is. Thanks to everyone for all the support you provide.
    Hugs, D

Hi D My name is Dave and although I don't have an illness I support the
fact that my wife does. Gee has fibro and I do the best I can to help her.
Being suportive of her really makes her cope with many factors in every day living.
I'm no expert on the subject but I have learned a lot from this group
    and enjoy coming here.
Any way I'm a local in St. Pete
If you have any questins feel free to ask.

I live on the back end of tampa bay in pinellas county. We all need support and understanding, especially on our bad days. I am really feeling the barometric pressure change started yesterday even though it was so pretty out, pain got out of control. I am more than willing to help or keep in touch, have background in med field and many yrs. of being involved in the fm world. Fri. went and got certified for advocacy for disabled persons and it appears we are way down on anyone`s list, got alot lot of info meeting was in tampa. Keep in touch, I am here for you. Hugs,Bless You

Thanks for all your responses. It's wonderful to know that there are some locals out there. Dealing with this mess of a disease is miserable, and I just don't have the energy to socialize with people who are well. Feel free to email me personally if you'd like....My name is Dena and I'm a 25 year old female. I live right on the border of Pinellas/Hillsborough counties.
    Thanks again everyone, Peace, Dena

I've never been to a support group either, but who knows, it might be worth a try sometime:) It sounds like you live pretty close to me. Get in touch if you feel like trying out that group.

Wow, you are very close by. I actually grew up in Oldsmar and went to Safety Harbor Middle School, then Countryside High. I graduated in '95. Now I live off of W. Hillsborough, which I still think of as Oldsmar area. Anyway, nice to meet you. Keep in touch and God bless, Dena

Hi Camelgirl My name is Debbie I live in Plant City, moved here from Orlando area about 3 years ago. I was diagnosed with FM/CFS over 2 years ago and finally found a doctor I like and can trust in Tampa. I am looking for a support group that meets in this area so if you know or hear of any keep me posted, THANX!

Pinky, I would love to know who your doc is if you don't mind. I am still officially undx because I'm already on disability for another health condition and I'm debating whether it's worth it to put myself through a lot of tests and things if it won't really help me. My primary and I will be discussing this and I'll see where he stands. if he doesn't believe in CFS, then I'll definitely be going to see a rheumy. I've already been sent to psych, neuro, blah blah blah, so I'm pretty sick of docs if ya know what I mean. Anyway, just looking for a sympathetic doc if there's one out there.

dear D, I go to an infectious disease specialist in clearwater who deals with a huge number of cfs patients if that is what you have....he will test for mycoplasma and hhv6 among others.does long term antibiotic treatment if necessary...many drs. will not...if interested you can e-mail me...address is on my bio...best of luck with who ever you try..I know how frustrating it is...it took me a long time to find one who didnt look at me like I had 2 heads when I used the words chronic fatigue syndrome....but more and more dr.s are startng to recognise it but dont know how to treat it....love, jan a.

    Hi!

I just wanted to say I am planning to move to Tampa hopefully within the next year. I've lived in Pittsburgh all my life and I can't take the climate and lack of sun anymore. It's making me depressed, miserable, and the cold makes my pain worse. I honestly believe my fatigue and pain would improve at least 25% if I were living down south.

Has anyone on the board moved for this reason, and if so has it helped you?

I've lived here since I was 11 (25 now), so I'm not sure if the weather helps or not, but from what everyone else seems to say, warm vs. cold, they will take the warm every time. I hope you have a good move, it's beautiful here.
Nice to meet you, talk to you again I'm sure.
    Peace and hugs, Dena
