My wife's doc suggested she try the meyer cocktail for her CFIDS. Has anyone had any experience with it?

How do you make it? Is it juicing?

Yes, I had them 5 or 6 years ago. Doc did the IVs in the office. The only effect I saw from them was TOTAL relaxation during and immediately after, but I think that was from the extra Magnesium he put in there. He would also give me oxygen during the IV. I always had to pee before I left the office, and my pee would smell like really strong B-Vitamins.

It's worth a try, a lot of people see a big improvement from them. I took a LOT of vitamins/supplements anyway, I think that's why I didn't see any difference.

    Hi Sheldon,

My CFIDS specialist would like me have the Meyers Cocktail on a weekly basis. However, since she is in NYC & abaout a 1 hr's commute for me, that doesn't work out. I even tried finding a local doc to administer it, no luck.

Now, I try to go to her office as often as possible, she even adds extra vitamins for each individual patient as needed.

I feel the cocktail benefits me - I certainly feel better all over when I do go, less "draggy", slightly more energetic, I don't feel like I am going to collapse at the drop just from walking to the mailbox. Several years ago when I had a very bad crash & my Epstein Barr levels were extremely high - I was using a different doc - I was going for the Meyers Cocktail 2x a week, this doc mixed his own version. At the time I was sleeping appr 18-20hr a day, it took several months of going for treatments to get me out of my slump. It did work, gradually. I was paying out of pocket (ouch!)

If this doc is covered by your insurance & the commute is reasonable, give the Meyers Coctail a try! Please try at least 4x (once a week for a month) before making a decision whether it works for her. Unless of course she has an adverse reaction.

Best of luck Sheldon, hope it works for your wife!

I had a number of these about 3 years ago. They did help my energy and I am actually thinking of trying some again. Fortunately, I can get them in my Doctor's office.
