I have been on chronic pain management for sometime now. FMS is part of my pain condition. My doctor just switched my pain meds from Vicodin ES to Dilaudid. I have been on it for 3 days now and I am having difficulty with the dose. I have plenty of freedom to use what I need. I guess I am going through a bit of a withdrawal from the Vicodin ES. Does anyone have any words of wisdom with this type of change? I am taking 4mgs of Dilaudid in the morning and then 2-4 every 4 hours. The coverage is different. It seems to cover severe pain better and I am no longer taking the 3000 mgs of acetaminophen a day with the elimination of Vicodin. I am swelling quite a bit more and this has increased my pain. I do take 50 mgs of Vioxx for arthritis pain and Elavil for nerve pain. Will this swelling pass? I am drinking more water than every!

    Thanks,
    Jan
