I've heard that this is being tried as a treatment option, and I'm wondering if anyone has given it a try?

I had symptoms despite my "normal" labs. My doc tried me on the lowest dose of Synthroid and it did help. My next labs were even "more normal." This is just the right dose for me. Any more and I feel wired.

It hasn't made a huge difference but it has helped. After taking it, I no longer need a nap every single afternoon. If I'm extra tired now, I will take an occasional nap, but not like before.

    Love, Mikie

Well,I am trying a trial of Synthroid for my CFIDS symptoms with normal thyroid labs. I am on 50 mcg every day; I haven't been feeling much different at all, but I have started having heart palps, so I might have to go off it at some point. I am having thyroid labs again at the end of september. I still have to nap almost every day.

PS should add that I do have FMS, too, but the pain isn't that bad; my pain has actually been worse since starting the Synthroid, but it could be weather or my decreasing health. Not sure.[This Message was Edited on 08/26/2005]

Thanks for your replies. I've been prescribed Levoxyl 50mcg. a day--but I'm weary to add another med, based on a big question mark, that could have adverse side effects. Why would my tests be normal? Sometimes when we shoot in the dark like this, we can put somebody's lights out ;( you know what I mean?

I wonder if taking kelp would help? I have normal labs but think that I still have problems with thyroid. Anyone taking Kelp? Hope someone can help me with this!
