I would like to hear if any of you have absent or decreased reflexes in your knees or ankles? What were you told?

    Hugs,
    Jen

It's so depressing now that I know something is really, really wrong with my body ( I just start crying sometimes, like in class the other day, because I felt so dizzy and in pain. What is wrong with my reflexes and my nerves, why am I so tired! My knees are aching so bad right now, and my shoulders, neck, and I have killer photosensitivity, dizziness, I feel like poop.

even with nerve damage, my reflexes are hyperactive. My thyroid disease, low estrogen and I believe FM can cause anxiety. The increased anxiety increases my reflexes and my heart rate. So far, only my Rheumatologist caught the reason for the hyperactivity. He orders labs to explain. My back doctors can see the nerve involvement on the film and don't understand why my reflexes are so sharp...I just watch them and wonder if they will put it together or not.

    take care,

Hi Jen. I have barely any reflexes and decreased sensation on my left side. I have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, FMS, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and mycoplasma infection. At this point, I don't know what illness is causing what symptom for certain.

I was referred to a Specialist by my primary physician as besides FM/CFS and a bunch of other stuff--I have advanced degenerative disc disease with multiple back problems.

The Specialist banged and banged with his little rubber hammer and manually tried to manipulate my reflexes, but got no responses. He diagnosed me with nerve damage.

He also said that I would need surgery to repair the nerve damage before it became permanent. Carol...

I have been told for years that i have no reflexes on my left side from the elbow down to the ankle... all my docs rheumy, neuro, neurosurgeons, etc... all tell me not to worry about it its ok.. that answer has always bothered me but none of them seem to think that it is a big deal. have been dx'd with bulging cervical disc, degenerative disc disease, pernicious anemia, they say it may be from the b-12 deficiency (pernicious anemia..

reflex in my right foot (achilles tendon?). Anyway, you can thump and thump away, and nothing happens. It's one of the lasting effects from the first ruptured disk I had.
