A week and a half ago I was so excited because I had found a new doc who treats fibro. All week long I was looking forward to my visit. I put all my hopes and faith in a practioner I had never even seen yet.

Today I got to his office and the office manager told me I couldnt see him because he was not in my network of providers. My insurance company revised my policy in Jan and never notified me! I am so mad I could spit nails!

I have sat here crying all afternoon. I had a very uplifitng psych appt this morning, and was on cloud nine. Now, I am back to the doc relentless doc search...wasting my time, my money, and my precious energy.

If I did not have children I adore more than life itself, I would not be here today to deal with all of this bs.

    Thanks for letting me vent...

I'm not sure about your particular insurance...

But my insurance will let me see a provider not on my list (through a review process) if there is no other provider in my area that treats a certain condition...

Anyways...all you have to do is call the customer service number of your insurance and ask them what the process is...

I've been really successful at times when I thought I didn't stand a chance...

    Just a thought...

If this doc is a specialist and there is no other in the insurance provider's network, they must allow you to go outside the network. The problem is that they usually have another doc in the same specialty, but the ones on their list may not be knowledgeable.

    Love, Mikie
