Blood Supply what do you think they will say? xmrv virus

    I do not remember as well today as I did yesterday and could not watch the whole thing.
    Did they not say they will publish something or let them know something.

    Blood donations will need to be screened for the XMRV retrovirus. They have to develop a simple enough test to be able to detect XMRV in blood sources, similar to the test they developed to detect HIV. Careful donor selection and sensitive serology screening is required.

    It's now a question of how, when and who makes the necessary decisions for the above to happen.

    Once there is a test available and hospitals are aware (as they should be now) that there may be contamination, the hospitals will be held legally liable if they give a patient a blood transfusion infected with XMRV. The threat of law suits should speed things up rather quickly, especially in view of Dr. Peterson's statements about attorneys contacting him about post-transmission infection claims.
