Last night was a first. My grandson began trumpet in Sept. My husband and I are both music teachers, he being a trumpet major and me a piano/organ.

Last night we gathered in my music room, I played the book of carols on piano, my daughter on flute, my son, husband and grandson on trumpet. Yes, bandwoman, in three parts!

Any idea what a special moment to see three different size trumpet players?

Little Megan handled the Jingle Bells.

All we lacked was the Red Kettle for the Salvation Army. I believe we have just created a new tradition. It was a special gift, very special indeed.

As you was describing it...I could visualize it! It must have been so special. Yes...a new tradition for your family!

    Merry Christmas!

Do we finally have a replacement for the VonTrappe family? LOL

Three trumpet players in one family. I pity the poor flute player. LOL

That sounds like a great beginning of a family tradition.

I made it to my mom's safely and did a whirlwind day of church, lunch, all my Christmas shopping in one day, wrapped all presents, watched It's A Wonerful Life and now am ready to collapse. Ha.

    Have a Merry Christmas.
