Cymbalta is an antidepressant and is supposed to also help with pain. It's a pretty new drug. My doctor started me on it several months ago and I've had pretty good results with it. One side effect I've had is constipation so I've had to increase the fiber in my diet.

Yes, cymbalta can be used for depression and/or pain. I think if it is prescribed for depression, they might start you out at a higher dose.

I was already taking an antidepressant, welbutrin xl. My doctor said he would start me out at 30mg for pain and if it helped, he might raise it.

    It has helped my pain.

Their is a cymbalta website. It is primarily used for diabetic neuropathy and antidepressant.
