I don't know if it's allowed to mention specific doctors here? I have gone to several in this area and am so frustrated because the local ones know next to nothing about FMS and don't care. Johns Hopkins doctor doesn't take FMS patients anymore, either! Can't believe it. I haven't tried doctors in DC yet, though, or Montgomery County, etc.

    Frustrated Big Time!

I see Dr. Annette Hudler with Nova Medical Group in VA. I'm not sure where you live and she is in Sterling VA but worth the drive since she is branching off with another Dr. to focus only on Fibrmyalgia/CFS. She is so wonderful, caring, and takes as much time to listen to what you are feeling and works with you to find the best plan of attack.

If you click on the Doctor Referral section at the top of this page, you'll see:

Kenneth B. Singleton, MD, MPH (410-296-3737 in Lutherville)

He has an office in Lutherville (just north of Balto.) but he's there on Tuesdays only. The woman who answered the phone said his other office is in Wash DC.

The write-up on him says that HE SUFFERS FROM FMS HIMSELF, is board certified in internal medicine and takes the approach that FMS is primarily metabolic.

I work on Tuesdays, so I'll have to see if I can get off. I'd love to see a doctor who knows what Fibro is all about!

    Take care

    Hi Mary,

I just wanted to let you know that I just got back from a 2 month check up appt. with Dr. Hudler. AGain, she is sooo sweet and caring and gave me new prescriptions for Ultram, for moderate pain, and Percocet 10-650 for breakthrough pain, and Ambien to help me sleep. She is not afraid of giving out narcotics, if that is what will help. She always wants to make a plan to keep you out of pain and sleeping well.

If you want her phone number, just let me know in this and I will get it to you by e-mail.
