Does anyone out there have Candida? What treatments diets are you on.
Due for test this month, have just had horridly stubborn vaginal thrush!
    Thanks anyone

    Hi tucker--welcome to the board...
Yes, I had systemic candida. Get rid of all the sugar in your diet. Treatment with Berberine Complex (all natural ingredients) is the route I took, as the RX antifungals made me deathly ill---and they also have limitations. I will paste a short bit of information about the two common RX'es to treat candida below. After treating the candida with Berberine Complex, (or RX antifungal) it is imperative to replace the good flora in the gut. For this I used a probiotic (must be refrigerated to keep flora alive) of bifidobacterium, and acidolphilus. Best wishes, LL

Diflucan and Nystatin are very different in their
action. Diflucan is a systemic anti-fungal that
reaches the yeast mainly by way of the blood stream.
Although swallowed, most Diflucan is absorbed into the
blood stream through the intestine wall and works
systemically. Unfortunately, very little remains in
the intestine, so intestinal Candida may be supressed
but will not be eradicated by Diflucan.
Nystatin is actually extracted from bacteria and does
not pass through the intestinal walls. It therefore
remains in the intestines at full concentration. If
used simultaneously in both mouthwash and tablets
form, Nystatin will kill off GI candida from the mouth
to the anus, but will not affect any Candida outside
    the GI tract.

Some recommend a very strict diet. My doc suggests eliminating 4 things: Yeast breads, sugar, alcohol and cheese. I have found this fairly easy to stay faithful to.
