Hi. I have the problem of not being able to fall asleep when I lay down to take a nap in the afternoon. Even when I'm exhausted, I just lay there relaxing, when I really, really need to fall asleep and nap. Any advice? (I already to relaxation exercises.) Thanks.

Prickles - that's so funny. Reminds me of my college days.

I can't nap either, but that made me think, maybe I should read some of my tax books...that should put anyone to sleep.

Seriously, I know how you feel ljf, I'll be watching this thread for any tips.

This may be a little off the wall here but you sound like you are really worried becuse you can't nap. That often makes things worse. The harder you try, the less you can sleep. Remember that just resting quietly, especially if you do relaxation exercises, can be almost as good as sleeping. I have also read in many places that it's not too helpful to nap during the day because it interferes with your night time sleep.

Just relax, rest and accept whatever happens.
