I not only have FM(and other chronic pain ailments) but this fatigue is killing me.It is worse than the pain. It's not like I can just stay in bed or take naps.(single mom and also take care of my mom alot)Strugglign to stay awake is harder than dealing with pain.

My new doctor who is infectious disease specialist working with CFS/Fibro said CFS does not kill you, it tortures you.

Have you tried Provigil for the fatigue? It works.

    with a handful of supplements.

I think it may be the oxidative stress that is killing you. Google Majid Ali, and then maybe experiment with large doses of antioxidants.. if your doc approves.

My fatigue was so out of control I was literally falling over by midday if I didn't get a nap. My doc had me try Cymbalta. Started at 30g 1x day, now at 60g. It's really working!!!! I'm no longer that tired and I'm getting more restful sleep and this ant-depressent also helps specifiacally with pain, too.

My rhuematologist has wanted to try ALOT of things, but my insurance does not cover alot of meds.(Cymbalta might have been one) All I can do is ask.I am already taking Wellbutrin and Lexapro.(he says Wellbutrin is good for fibroymalgia.)One thing,he is trying to adjust my meds. so I am not taking meds. that make me gain more weight. He does not want to do alot of switching all at once. I do know I must take an anti-depressant,anti-anxiety(Xanax),high blood pressure(Toprol XL) and painkiller(Vicodin)along with an anti-inflamatory). The one problem I have is,if it's not a prescription(that my ins. covers),or something OTC,I cannot afford it.I can barely buy daily vitamins.

My husband just started taking Provigil, and it seems to be making a great difference for him. This is daytime med, but I am also wondering if anyone taking provigil in daytime is also taking xyrem at night.

I am new to this but have had fibromyagia for 9 months now. Have been given so much medicine with so many side affects did almost die a few months ago. I know what y ou mean about being tired all the time and this does feel like it is killing me too. It's hard to talk to a lot of people about it. I went from going from 6 in the morning till 10:30 at night without stoping so much energy now have to walk with walker and use scooter to get around stores. I know what you are saying and I know how you feel. Sorry, for whining just good kto know you all are ou there.

Why not try sublingual B-12 tablets. I know, at least for me, they give me a surge of energy when I need it.

I hear you! The two take turns with me. When the pain rules I feel like an old football player. When the fatigue rules I feel like a good name for this stuff would be coffin disease! Sorry I don't have any answers for you except that in time the two switchup on me.
