hi all. a new, highly potent antiherpetic, valomaciclovir (MIV-606), is currently in phase III trials.

it works against EBV and HHV6 but is made for VZV. i read that this drug, when used with foscarnet-ZT, suppresses HHV6 by 90%.

Sounds interesting, probably be expensive though. It might bring the price of other antivirals down like valcyte and famvir, fingers crossed.
Interesting how they mention its use in cfs, these things help bring respectability to this disease too.

hi all. i imagine it will be expensive but once its FDA approved, most insurance plans would cover it i think.

This product is made by Epiphany Biosciences. And it is in phase III for HHV6 and Phase II for EBV. They are currently doing clinical trials. It would be worth to look into getting free drug via a clinical trial. That is what I am looking into...I am waiting for a reply back from the company.

If I hear more info, I will let everyone know.

The more we know, the better patients we can be and help in our own healing. Expensive drugs which are not covered by ins. can often be had free, or at a discount, if one meets the guidelines for low income.
