    I have written up a classified ad in hopes of maybe finding some physician who would treat this. The ad will cost a bit of money to run but not as much money as trying every doctor in town.

    Wanted: Physician willing to treat Fibromyalgia/CFS as a disease syndrome, not a psychosomatic/sleep syndrome. Requirements: Must be willing to try new treatments and therapies on a voluntary but desperate human guinea pig, and be willing to treat pain. Prejudiced and old med school types need not apply.

    This is what I have so far...any other suggestions?

    Bet you won't get many replies though.

    There are good docs out there. Perhaps an ad like this could spur them into a new specialist area.

    If you think about it, anyone who becomes successful at treating patients with CFS/FM stands to make a good living out of it. There's just so many patients out there waiting.

    I don't know of any docs who even have time to read the front page of the paper, let alone the classifieds. I hope you won't be wasting your money.
    What you need is an alternative M.D. They are popping up all over now in cities. Look in the yellow pages under "Holistic" or "Alternative practitioners" or under "Physicians" but under the holistic subheading. In my Yellow Pages, Subheadings by specialty are in alphabetical order, after the listing of all the M.D.'s.
    I've got a holistic M.D. now, and though I had to ride 1 1/2 hrs. through heavy traffic to see her, she spent 2 hrs. with me at my appt.

    you probably won't get a response from a MD, but maybe someone at the paper will think it's "out of the ordinary" enough to rate an article instead of a classified ad and then that would certainly bring the problem of not being able to find a doc who believes/is willing to treat out in the open. And it's just this kind of thing that could do it. Go for it, girl.

    Go for it! You never know until you try - and if nothing else, it will raise awareness - you may even find yourself invited onto local tv!!!! They love anything like that...

    Very best of luck - I think it's a great, innovative idea.

    let us know what happens,
