I'm having a hard time giving up coffee or giving up my tsp of sugar in my coffee in the morning.

Are y'all addicted to coffee? It's my only motivating factor for getting out of bed in the morning. Except when I'm nauseated, then I don't want it.

I'm kinda scared of artificial sweeteners. My doc hasn't said anyting about the coffee but I'm going to the FFC next week and am wondering if they're going to try to get me to give it up. I would if it would help even though I LOVE my coffee!

likes to put honey in his coffee. Doesn't have it often though. I used to make this nice hot drink with 1tsp Postum (a coffee substitute) 1tsp cocoa powder, sugar, 1/2cup whole milk, 1/2 cup water, and a drop of almond extract. So yummy and rich, tasted like black forrest cake.

    Hi -

When I gave up alcohol I started drinking more coffee. I make a pot of high test in the morning and a pot of decaf at night. I do use cream and sugar. I know when I finally see the specialist this will be on his list of things to stop.

I use to use Somersweet in my coffee, it's by Suzane Somers and you can only get it on line. I think it tastes better than Splenda but it's a bit expensive. I've been using sugar now.

Regular good organic coffee morning blend w/half and half (the real deal) and 1 teaspoon of whatever as a sweetener.
    I've got
    Clear Stevia,
    organic raw brown sugar
    or honey.
I don't use white table sugar. I'm so moody in the morning. I know that my poor husband thinks I'm nuts but he does not say so. He knows not to go there!!lol He just asks how to use it, how much ect...good

my problem is that I can't just have 1 cup. If I make a pot I drink it - yes, the whole pot.

Yes, I drink my coffee in the morning, and I have NO PLANS of ever giving it up!!

I do have to drink decaf, though. But you can't find anything better than Folger's Decaf!! Delicious!! I can't drink the regular stuff due to my many heart problems. After you get used to it, you can't even tell the difference between it and the regular stuff.

I gave up putting sugar in it a long time before I found out that I was a diabetic, and didn't even miss the sugar out of it! I do add a little powdered "lite" coffee creamer to my coffee.

I never did drink coffee all day, though -- just 2 or 3 cups in the morning is enough for me!

Please don't drink splenda! Try diluting your sugar with Stevia and slowly cut out the sugar and switch. Stevia is and unprocessed Herb. The FFC will tell you to drink the coffie but do away with the sugar and artificial sweetners. If you don't have a candida problem they will not be as strict. Not sure about drinking a whole pot but a couple of cups is Ok. Lynn

Oh. I love my coffee. When I was working, I took it for granted and had about 6-8 cups, black and artificial sweeteners every day. When I became ill, the doc. said to try to give it up - which I did. Headache for about 5 days. I survived for about 4 years with NO coffee. Now, I allow myself one cup a day - and it must be the way I like it - to the extent that I will not have one if I am out at a coffee shop, but wait until I get home so I have it exactly as I like it - black and strong I now use stevia - an natural plant sweetener instead of sugar. It is really good: no calories, or chemicals as I grow a small plant on my back verandah. It really tastes like sugar. It is a highlight of my day - so sad!

I cannot drink coffee or coca cola at all. Sends me into tachycardia & skipped beats all night :( Scary stuff. It was pretty easy for me to quit though, the symptoms it was causing were pretty hair raising.

I have drunk my coffee without sugar for years. The issue is caffine. Years ago I stopped drinking coffee after noon time. This past year I have been trying to cut my full test with no lead. I have managed to do one cup decaf and one regular in the morning with a decaf at lunch. This has helped reduce my exhaustion. I must be sleeping better at night or something. I am hoping to switch to decaf completely.

A word about decaf; all decaf is not created equal. A study was just done and some decafs were loaded with caffine! Dunkin Donuts was one of the offenders. I forget the other brands that were tested. I sure it could be found n the internet if it was googled.

As for the sugar I too don't like artificial anything. I eat all organic. I found this brown sugar stuff called Sucanat that seems to agree with me in moderation.

    good health to all, zoose

For some reason a about 3 weeks ago coffee just started tasting horrible to me. I don't know why other than I was in a flare. I haven't had any since then, and I'm starting get to the point that I would like a cup.

I grew up in a household where there was ALWAYS a pot of coffee on, and I started drinking it at a young age so beside just the flavor, it has warm memories.

I drink mine half caf and half de-caf with flavored Coffeemate and splenda if it needs it.
