Does anyone know of a compassionate Rheumatologist or Pain Specialist in the Indianapolis (or surrounding counties) area? I have been to Dr. Lockwood in Lafayette. I don't find him to be very compassionate. He will only prescibe Lortab 2 times a day for my pain. When I talk to him about how much I hurt, he tells me that he is afraid I will become addicted. I currently have been taking Lyrica 150mg 3 times a day for appprox. 4 months. I don't find any relief from Lyrica. Lortab isn't enough. Upon examination, he told me I have 16 of 18 tenderpoints. I told him that is probably why I hurt so much. Didn't make a difference. Also, my COBRA insurance ran out so I now have a new insurance company and have to start with new doctors because the new policy doesn't cover my previous doctors. I am so frustrated with the whole thing that sometimes I just want to give up.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
ps...Dr. Lockwood is the only Rheumatologist in Lafayette where I live.

My CFS doctor, Dale Guyer, is in Indianapolis. I don't know how good he is at treating FM though.

I think there's a place called the Meridian Pain Clinic, or something similar, in Indianapolis. Someone here wrote about it once.

If you look at the top of the board, there's a thread by doxygirl called "Please Post Your Good Doctor Here." That pain clinic may be on it.
