I have been "deconditioned" since my 20s after extended bedrest during pregnancy. Now, in my mid-40s, it's just gotten worse. I can hike up and down a mountain for six miles, but ache just hanging up laundry. Weird stuff. I was only at 1/3 normal when I was 26 (heart rate too high under moderate treadmill stress). I'd hate to see where I am now. Anyway - books? websites? Anyone else successfully managed to get in better physical shape without ending back in bed?
