COQ10 need help

    Hi All,

I haven't been here in a while and I was just looking over some posts and feeling so incredibly grateful to everyone here. I have PD so I've been trying to find a board for that and I have realized there's nothing out there like this board. What a bright, compassionate crowd!

Now, I need COQ10 -- mitochondria problems are at the very heart of PD I believe and I always thought so about CFS.

I want to take Vitaline which was specifically used in the PD studies all around the country. Enzymatic and Integrative Therapeutics (I think that's the name) both claim they are the ones making Vitaline. Vitaline is trade marked so I don't get this.

This stuff is so expensive. For all that money I do want the one the studies used -- they are chewable things.

I know someone here can help me unravel this.

Thanks so much whoever you are and thanks to all of you for just being yourselves. Really.

    Dear Over and Banya,

Thanks for the info and good wishes.

Yes, I figured out that Enzymatic Therapy is
the brand that makes the Vitaline wafer.

Yes, I have FM and CFS and now PD. However,
I think there is a lot of cross-over in the
conditions for me. I experience them all as
distinct sets of symptoms -- very discrete
interestingly. I mean I can tell you at any
given time what is acting up. However, in
my case I believe the genesis of them all is
a cellular dysfunction. I do not have the viral
stuff although I have immune system stuff.

Okay, you may find this really weird but when
I was first getting sick with the CFS there was
a moment when I had an absolute flash intuition
which was "something is really really wrong with
me." A couple of years later something similar happened
but my intuition told me "it's in every cell of
your being." Weird, huh? Strange but true.

Anyway, I'm ready to make the dive into COQ10.
I tried some tablets but they hurt my stomach.
I hope the Vitaline won't do that. I have a
bad, rapidly progressing form of PD so I have
to get on it. I think I may go above the 1200 mg
as the last study they did found 2400 mg. well

Thanks you guys. I'll let you know how it goes.

    Peace to all.

    Hi Banya,

How did you get this muscle testing? I would love that but no one offered.
Also, how much COQ10 do you take?

    Thanks again.

Banya, thank you for your thoughtful and smart post. I agree with your line of logic about which comes first the chicken or the egg. I have had a super high prolactin level for several years now and no one, even a "pituitary" specialist could figure it out. Well, surprise surprise, dopamine (lost in Parkinson's disease) inhibits prolactin production. For all I know that started the whole nightmare. Tricky business, all this. Too bad no one cares about it as much as the sufferers.

Hope you feel better every day and thanks for the post.

Hi! Thanks for remembering me!! This site is really great. Everyone is full of heart. One doesn't find that in the real world often. I have a theory that it's because everyone can check their ego at the door here and that leaves lots of room for the heart and soul.
    Be well. LouiseK

Me, too, I have a tendency to go on and off the supplements. It gets to be so much to take and organize and swallow and pay for. Good to hear from you. Get back on at least a multi and some calcium and magnesium, tho, so I don't have to worry about you!

    Hi Harmony ( and Louise),

I know we are all VERY different but just curious how much do you take daily of CoQ10 for your energy, and the dosage? I also have FM and some CFS.

I have been taking 150mg for awhile now and not sure it is making be feel better, or should I say, the best I could possibly feel on a larger doage or taking it more often? I have been on the lower dosages for a long time when Prohealth suggested it years ago. Although lately I have been getting it at Sams in the BIG bottles.

Warm hugs and blessings to all,

Does anyone know where the Vitaline brand of Coenzyme Q10 - Maple Nut Flavor can be purchased at better prices? These are chewable wafers. Dr. Teitelbaum recommends the Vitaline brand. Thanks.
