Need Help with Some Advice Please.

I recently applied for CPP due to FM. My family Doc felt at the time that I could still work however the specialist that he referred me to as stated that with all of the complications that I have with the illness that I can not work in any capacity. Just received my letter informing me that I do not qualify for CPP. Where do I go from Here? I know I must appeal but with what? Totally lost and confused. More stress and BS only to further complicated this illness I never asked for or wanted. Anyone with any info would be greatly appreciated thank you.

CPP's standard response is to refuse your initial application but don't let that discourage you. I have been on CPP Disability for years due to CFS/FM and I have helped many people get it too.

First of all, you need a doctor who will support your application and word it properly. Has your family doc come around to the specialist's way of thinking? If not, would the specialist support you and fill out the form>

It has been a long time since I have helped anyone with this so I would have to go back and check what the key words are. If you want me to help you with this, please reply to this post and I will look up my old work.

Things need to be said in a specific way or they will refuse you again so it is important to get the wording right. Depending on your symptoms, you may need to see other health professionals. One person I helped had to see a psychologist and she got her CPP on the grounds of impaired cognitive functioning after a battery of tests.

    Talk to you later.

Thank you so much. Any help you can give I would greatly appreciate. I'm not sure yet whether my family Doc will support the specialist report as I have not seen him since I went to the specialist. My family Doc sent in the forms before he got that report. I assume the specialist will support me as he was the one who stated that I cannot work in any capacity and gave me a report for CPP. I will be going in to see them both within the next few weeks to determine where they stand as I need to appeal by the end of Oct.

    Thank you again TTYS

Glad to hear that you didn't have to fight. I have heard from others though that it normally is a struggle. With all the complications with the illness it only adds to further cause more stress. I have thought maybe I could ask for a copy of my Doctor's file so that I could send in all of my reports from over the years. Not sure if that is allowed.

Thank you for the info on the room I will check it out.
