Well went in today to see FCSS who helped me fill out the paper work for my CPP. I am not holding my breath as I know so many people have been turned down.

My doctor took it upon himself to not return the forms to FCSS and forgot have of my medical problems?? Yikes!!

So make make a long story short we sent in all my problems with past doctors names and what test results I could remember..ugh. An example he wrote I have Fibro but did not include my CFS? I asked him why he would leave that out?? He said : "because they all are one in the same CFS or Fibro same thing". He failed to mention so many of my conditions so we will see what happens.

Just needed to vent it has been a long process with this doctor. It has been well over a year since I have worked and sure could use the help..I hope this works. Take care all

A rhematoid arthritic specialist knows about FM and CFS. And, some think it comes from degeneration of the discs in the neck and spine. An MRI can prove this out. You need a doctor who is batting FOR you. I accompanied all my applications with a detail of my life, how I lived my days, and could NOT do things. Also there is space to list the details, so I would include all the things you suffer daily. I have been covered for 15 years on CPP. It works. Good luck and do NOT give up. It took my specialist returning my MRI results twice to get them read properly. She knew there was a disruption of my spine because of my symptoms and they found it. You can get it covered but it is under the symptoms. We never listed FM as a cause, just described all the symptoms. and they were many! Times are changing and I think it's a little easier on people now. I certainly hope so! Good luck! But you do need a good specialist attending you, or at least a family doctor that really understands FM and CFS and knows what they are doing. Never settle for less than best.

I don't have any advice that hasn't been given but it is vital to not only list your symptoms but also the impact upon your day to day life.

One impact that is very important is the unpredictable nature of this DD. A flare can come out of the blue and keep you down for a while and this would be something that employers would have to consider and definitely hinder your chances of getting a job.

In America FM is recognized as a legitimate condition by the American College of Rheumatism. I don't know if this is true in Canada. I'm not saying CFS isn't legitimate and hopefully one day will be, but make sure the doctor puts a code in for severe and relapsing fatigue, excessive daytime sleepiness, chronic pain, etc.

I don't think there is a code for CFS. Anyone know if there is?

Good luck to you and let us know how you are doing.
