Help, help, help, My toes are curling under and are becoming deformed. Is this happening to anyone else? Do you know why it is happening? Do you know how to stop it . I've seen a neuroligist, an orthopedist, a foot specialist, and a chiorpractor and they don't have any answers either. I'm praying some one here might know .

Sue, I'm sure you meant toes, and not toenails, but my eyes popped when I saw your message. I just had "surgery" (I called it a Saddam Pedicure) to deal with four toenails that were curling so much that they were diving through my flesh and causing pain and infection. This is the side-to-side curl, and the arc was so strong it was much more than half a circle.

What are they doing for you? Are you wrapping your toes?
I do hope someone has an answer for you.

Thanks for listening , Laurie, no it's not toenails but the whole toe. It started with the sacond toe and is progressing right down the "little piggy "line . tehy are just curling under and I can't straighten them out.
    Hugs , Susan

Hammer toes curl under and eventually will lie on their sides in shoes. This puts pressure on the toes next to them. This runs in families. There is surger where they remove the joint, put temp pins in the toe and then removed the pins when scar tissue holds the toe straight. I had this done on the great toe on the left side. It was not bad surgery at all and it worked well. It does change one's balance. If I were to do it again, I would ask if there were another procedure where they do not have to take out the joint. It shortens the toe about 1/2 of an inch.

See another podiatrist and get another opinion.

    Love, Mikie

two CLAW toes and the rest at this point hammer toes except for the big toe and they are fine so far. I just want to know why this is happening and how I can stop it. Hugs, Susan
